Eight questions to ask
- Do you carry liability insurance and workers compensation? Can I see the certificate?
- Will I get a written estimate that lists every part of the job?
- Is cleanup and hauling included?
- Is the stump included or extra?
- Who will be on site, and who is in charge?
- How will you protect my house, lawn and driveway?
- Do you have local references or reviews?
- Do you want a large payment up front?
Red flags
Be careful with anyone who offers to top your trees, uses climbing spikes on trees that are staying, asks for full payment before starting, or cannot show proof of insurance. If a worker is injured on your property and the company is uninsured, you may be liable.

We give free written estimates, show proof of insurance on request, and do not ask for payment until the job is done and you are happy with the cleanup.
